Moving your podcast to Podcorn Hosting is a great choice! Follow these simple steps to seamlessly migrate your content and start monetizing your show.

Before you start:

  • Ensure your feed is complete. Access your current RSS feed to verify it includes all your published episodes in mp3 or m4a formats. Your RSS feed will look like a URL and can be accessed through your current hosting provider.

  • Turn off ads on your current hosting platform. If your show uses dynamic ad insertion, please use an ad-free version of your feed. Contact your current host's support team if you need assistance.

  • Export your metrics. Your analytics won't transfer during a migration. Log into your old hosting provider to access and export this data. Availability varies by platform, so it's best to export this data to ensure you have it.

Once chosen to join Podcorn Hosting, you'll receive an invite via email. If you don’t have a Podcorn account yet, you'll need to create one. After creating your account, you'll be guided through the migration process.

When creating a Podcorn account, make sure to uncheck the box labeled "This is a new podcast I'm uploading for the first time." Only leave it checked if you're setting up an RSS feed for the first time. For guidance on creating a podcast/RSS feed from scratch, click HERE.

Important note: Verifying your email is a crucial step in creating your Podcorn account, as it confirms you own your podcast. You won’t be able to continue with the migration process until this is completed. Learn more here.

Initiate the migration process

1. If you have multiple podcasts linked to your Podcorn account, choose which podcast you’d like to move to Podcorn Hosting.

2. Review and accept Podcorn Hosting’s Terms & Conditions.

3. Review help articles to understand the next steps and learn how to use Podcorn to monetize your content. If you have any unanswered questions, feel free to email us at support@podcorn.com, and a team member will be happy to assist you.

4. Podcorn will automatically identify your current hosting platform and the number of episodes to migrate. Please verify that the episode count matches your existing host to ensure everything transfers correctly.

  • Make sure Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) is disabled on your previous hosting account, then click the checkmark to confirm. This prevents episodes from being migrated with ads that shouldn't be permanently embedded. This process varies by hosting provider, so contact your current host's support team if you need assistance.

  • Confirm the migration by typing in MIGRATION. Once initiated, our system will import all existing episodes into Podcorn Hosting.

5. The migration will occur in real time, and you can monitor its progress. The duration of the migration depends on the number of episodes and the size of the files. You will receive an email notification once the migration is complete. Feel free to navigate away from this page; the migration will proceed regardless of whether you are on the site.

6. After the migration is complete, you'll be prompted to set up an RSS redirect. This ensures that anyone accessing your old podcast feed URL is directed to your new feed, automatically updating all podcast directories without requiring manual updates. Our system will detect your previous hosting platform and provide specific instructions for setting up the redirect. You'll need your new RSS feed that we provided for you.

7. Verify the redirect by clicking the "check redirect" button to see if our system has confirmed the completion of the redirect. This process is usually quick and shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes.

8. Once the redirect is confirmed, you'll move on to the next step, where you'll be prompted to set up your Stripe or PayPal account to receive payments for any ads on your show. You can complete this step now or select "I'll do this later" to set it up later. However, please note that this setup is required for you to receive payments.

9. Once the redirect is confirmed, you'll receive a message letting you know you're all set! Your episodes will now appear in Podcorn Hosting. After the import is complete, check that all audio and episodes have been properly ingested. If anything is missing or incorrect, reach out to our support team for assistance.

To ensure a seamless transition, we recommend waiting at least 2-4 weeks before deleting your old hosting platform account.

If you have any questions during the migration process, reach out to our support team, and would be happy to assist you.

Now, let's get you some ads!
