How Does The Attribution Tag Work?

The Podcorn Tag works as an attribution pixel for podcasting, providing more in-depth reporting on campaigns booked through Podcorn. This allows you to gain valuable insights and data on conversions. Unlike other attribution services, Podcorn's attribution tool is completely free.

Benefits:

The Podcorn Tag is a custom-built attribution tool. Once the tag is embedded in a brand’s site it will track:

  • Unique visitors to your site

  • Custom metrics such as registrations or purchases

  • Date and time of listen

  • Device

  • Location

  • Brands can also create lenses to further filter data

An attribution page will be set up where you can see all statistics tracked by the tag in real-time.

So, how does it work exactly?

We track how many people visit the brand’s website after listening to the episode with the ad. We assume that users may visit the brand’s website within 4 days of the ad’s release. We then count all visits from the advertising campaign during this period. We only count visits where the user has listened to the ad in the episode before visiting the brand’s site.

  • Each user is identified by a unique key. This key helps us confirm that the user is unique.

  • We track all visits that come from the ad. Each visit is counted individually, so if a user visits the site twice, both visits are recorded separately.

  • Currently, we do not consider how long a user stays on the brand’s website.

How to Add an Attribution Tag

Go to Settings and click on Attribution. After adding the site, you'll receive a JS snippet that you need to include on your site's landing page.

You can also set up the attribution tag when creating a new campaign.
