Will Podcorn send me any tax documents?

All podcasters paid through a third-party payment service such as Stripe or PayPal should expect to receive a 1099 tax form from the third-party payment provider (not Podcorn) based on the third-party payment providers' 1099 reporting rules. For example, PayPal will only send 1099-K forms (in place of 1099-NEC forms) if you were paid more than $20,000 AND received more than 200 payments in the calendar year. If you do not qualify to receive a 1099 form from PayPal (or any other third-party payment processor), you will still not receive one from Podcorn.

Podcorn only issues 1099-NEC forms to podcasters who we have paid directly, in which case you would have likely sent us an invoice, we would have requested a W9 form, and your 1099-NEC will be issued per the information on your W9.

Note that as an independent contractor / business owner it is your responsibility to report all earned income to the IRS per the IRS regulations applicable to you regardless of whether or not you receive a 1099 form. Please consult a tax professional if you have additional questions.
