Distributing your podcast on major platforms like Apple Podcasts and Spotify is a crucial step in reaching your audience. These platforms have streamlined processes, making it easy to submit your show and get it into the ears of listeners worldwide. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you distribute your podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Submitting Your Podcast to Apple Podcasts

Apple Podcasts is one of the most popular podcast directories, so getting your show listed there is essential. Follow these steps:

  1. Create an Apple ID
If you don’t already have an Apple ID, create one at Apple ID. Ensure that the account is active and verified.

  2. Prepare Your Podcast
Make sure your podcast meets Apple’s technical requirements:

    • Your podcast should have a valid RSS feed.

    • Include a cover image with a resolution of 3000x3000 pixels in JPEG or PNG format.

    • Ensure your feed includes metadata such as title, description, category, and explicit content rating.

  3. Sign in to Apple Podcasts Connect
Go to Apple Podcasts Connect and sign in with your Apple ID. Review and accept the terms and conditions.

  4. Add Your RSS Feed
Click the “+” button and paste your RSS feed URL. Apple will fetch your podcast information. Ensure everything looks accurate, and verify that your episodes are displaying correctly.

  5. Verify Ownership
Apple Podcasts Connect will send a verification email to the email address listed in your RSS feed. Confirm your ownership by following the instructions in the email.

  6. Submit Your Podcast
Once verified, click “Submit” to send your podcast for review. Apple typically reviews submissions within 1-3 business days, though it can take longer.

  7. Monitor Your Submission
Check the status of your submission in Apple Podcasts Connect. Once approved, your podcast will be available on Apple Podcasts.
